Turning my painful journey with Endo into helping others - Jenny Third

Over the last 6 years I have suffered from Endometriosis and PCOS. Trying to find a diagnosis to my pain was just the beginning of this long journey.

At the start of all of this, I honestly thought there was something wrong with my stomach and bowels rather than Endometriosis as I had never heard of it before. I went through colonoscopy after colonoscopy to only be told I had a redundant bowel which is why it doesn’t work properly. However I knew this wasn’t the answer. So I went and spoke to a specialist, who to this day I thank greatly as she helped me immensely and made me feel like I actually matter.

There had been numerous doctors who had comments of ‘Just have a baby, it will fix you’ or ‘If you lose weight you wouldn’t have this problem’. To which is definitely not the answer and no one should be spoken to like this.

During my first ultrasound you could see straight away how bad my PCOS was just from ultrasounds. After having some sort of direction of being told I had PCOS, my doctor did not want to give up and advised on getting a laparoscopy, and there I was also diagnosed with Endometriosis.

It has been a long battle but through trying to get to know my body better and what it does and doesn’t like, I try my best to manage my pain. However, some days I just can’t. Going for my laparoscopy I had no idea what to expect through the recovery period. Back then there wasn’t the online resources available and the amazing Endo community online. I wanted others to feel heard and included when going through their recovery from Endo.

I had just begun a recovery business for cosmetic surgeries and postpartum whilst starting this Endo journey. I developed our Endo Recovery Pack based on my own personal experiences and wanted to help others out post op. So I created this pack which included everything they needed after their laparoscopy or even just to help manage their pain.

We have now helped over 3000 people in Australia and still to this day my Endo Recovery Packs are my favourite to pack and touch my heart. I always try to throw in there freebies for the people purchasing these. A Kosi heat pack would be another great recovery gift!.

Sometimes when you think something bad is happening to you, it actually leads you in a different direction in which you grow and flourish and happens to be the right path for you.
